Chart of Accounts
The Chart of Accounts Program, one of the CEMI readiness initiatives, engaged consultants to discover commonalities and differences across the university campuses’ multiple financial systems.
The work to establish a Chart of Accounts is occurring in tandem with other CEMI readiness initiatives, which the university expects will better integrate Financial, Human Resource, and Student applications into common systems across all campuses. These types of systems are often referred to as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools.
A specific Chart of Accounts stakeholder group has been created to identify and document existing general ledger structures including the chart of accounts, reporting architecture, organization hierarchy, and other supporting attributes in Workday, Kuali, and SAP financial systems.
The group will map the different structures and define the guiding principles for future structural requirements for these key areas. In future phases, following vendor selection and when the larger CEMI implementation project has been initiated, the new general ledger structure will be refined and configured.
